Counselling, or therapy, falls under the umbrella term ‘talking therapies’ allowing people to discuss their problems and any difficult feelings they encounter in a safe, confidential environment. in general, it is a process people seek when they want to change something , or explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth. A counsellor does not tell you what to do, they encourage you to talk about what's bothering you to uncover any root causes and identify your specific ways of thinking. They may then look to create a plan of action to either help you reconcile your issues, or help you to find ways of coping.
I have completed a rigorous training program and have several years of experience working with clients to help them achieve their goals. I am a registered member of the BACP. I also have a background in educational management and training, which gives me a deeper understanding of human behavior and motivation.
Yes, I offer both in-person and virtual coaching sessions to accommodate the needs and preferences of my clients.
The frequency of coaching sessions depends on the individual and their goals. Some clients prefer to meet weekly, while others may meet bi-weekly or monthly.
A humanistic counsellor will help you look at what is going on for you and listen to you without judgement. You will explore your feelings and how you react to situations and help you to find your own answers to any issues you bring to the therapy room.
